The Williamsport Civic Chorus invites the public to explore contemporary holiday music at 3 p.m., Nov. 24 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St., as part of the city's Victorian Christmas festivities.
"The chorus performed Ola Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass and the Lake Isle in the Spring of 2022, to the delight of both audience and singers," a news release said. "We return to this masterful composer this holiday, singing his lush, evocative interpretations of traditional carols."
Conrad Susa's approach to his holiday suite has a distinctly Southwestern American style, according to the news release. His reworking of traditional Spanish carols results in songs both familiar and fresh, and groups them in a narrative celebrating the birth of the baby Jesus.
There will be a reception following the concert in the Fellowship Room. Discounted tickets are available from Otto's Bookstore or R.M. Sides Family Music, or online at williamsportcivicchorus.org. Tickets will also be available at the door on concert day.
