American Legion Auxiliary announces essay contest winners

A total of 40 students from Lock Haven Catholic School participated in the American Legion Auxiliary's Americanism essay competition. Each and every child that participated received a personalized "Certificate of Participation"! First place in Class I (Sydney Walker) and Class II (Isabella Bravoco), also placed first on Centre, Lycoming and Clinton counties level and will be judged on levels throughout our state and could go on to the National level. Maren Davis won first place for Class III. Adalyn Caruso, Owen Wuytack and MeiLin Talbot won second place while Jackson Shadle, Finnegan McElroy and Melanie Freeman won third place for their respective classes. Students are pictured with American Legion Auxiliary(ALA) Unit #131 of Lock Haven' s Auxiliary President, Doris Schenck; ALA Unit's Secretary, Susan Miller and Americanism Chairperson, Carol Wert Walker (who also is currently serving as Department of Pennsylvania's American Legion Auxiliary's District President for Centre, Lycoming and Clinton counties).
