BLANCHARD -- This year marks a major milestone for Busy Bees Natural Learning Center, as they celebrate 20 years of nurturing young minds and building strong roots in the community. Since opening their doors in 2005, the center has been a place where nature-based learning, creativity, and care come together to support children and families in the heart of Central Pennsylvania.
BBNLC is a certified group childcare with a Star 4 quality ranking.
In addition to the highest rank in Keystone Stars, they are also certified as an outdoor classroom with the nationally recognized, Nature Explore. Committed to creating a safer and healthier childcare setting, BBNLC is a participant in the EHCC (Eco-Healthy Childcare).
"We are incredibly grateful for the trust and support the community has shown us over the past two decades," said Director Tonya Fisher. "It's been an honor to grow alongside so many amazing families."
Busy Bees was founded with a mission to offer a more natural, child-led approach to early education -- one that honors the rhythms of the seasons, fosters curiosity, and encourages outdoor exploration.
Over the years, BBNLC has become known not just for its educational excellence, but for its warmth, compassion, and commitment to children's well-being.
The 20-year anniversary celebration included special events, community/organization visitors, and heartfelt thanks to the families -- past and present -- who have helped shape this journey.
As Busy Bees looks ahead, the team remains dedicated to creating a nurturing space where children can thrive, learn, and grow with the same love and care that started it all.
"We wouldn't be here without our community," said Tonya. "This celebration is just as much theirs as it is ours."
