James V Brown Library encourages public to ‘donate, enjoy, volunteer, own, let’

The James V. Brown Library is excited to celebrate Library Lovers’ Month with its community again this February! Library Lover’s Month is an opportunity for community members to express their appreciation for libraries and the important work they do.

The love between a Library and its community is a mutual love, and the James V. Brown Library is happy to provide its community with collections of materials for education and entertainment, equal access to internet through public computers and lendable mobile WiFi hotspots, free programs to keep community members engaged and connected with each other, and private study spaces and small meeting rooms for telehealth appointments, tutoring, testing, and more. Most of all, the Library seeks to provide a safe, warm place where all members of the community feel welcome.

If you’d like to show your library it’s LOVED this February, consider one of the following:

LET your voice be heard by sharing stories on social media of the positive impact the Library has had on you or your community or by letting a Library worker know what their service means to you.

OWN a day at the Library and honor someone special in your life by designating a day as theirs in their name through the Library’s “Own-A-Day Program.”

VOLUNTEER to help the Library’s frontline staff shelve materials and keep the Library tidy, organized, and accessible or volunteer to work in the Friends of the James V. Brown Library’s Used Bookstore.

ENJOY the Library and its resources by registering for a library card, attending a program, or borrowing a book, DVD, CD, videogame, boardgame, or toy.

DONATE a tax-deductible gift to the Library or give your used books to the Friends of the James V. Brown Library so they can be sold in their Used Bookstore for proceeds that will benefit the Library.

No matter how you’re able to show your support, the James V. Brown Library looks forward to seeing you and serving you in the month of February.
