Museum to offer ‘farewell look’ at art exhibit

The public is invited to attend a farewell look at Echoes of Eden at the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society from 7 to 9 p.m., May 20.

There will be no admission charge that evening. Guests will view the exhibition Echoes of Eden in a Rising Republic: Still Life and the Beauty of Becoming, which features a collection of 37 still life paintings from the Neal Milligan Collection. The exhibition continues only through May 31. According to a news release, a full-color catalogue and posters highlighting the artworks will be available for purchase that evening at a discounted rate.

The exhibition features the works of Charles Baum, Gustavus Adolphus Behne, William Mason Brown, Edward L. Custer, Joseph Decker, Adelheid Dietrich, Robert Spear Dunning, George Forster, John Francis, Virginia Granbery, George Henry Hall, George Harvey, Paul Lacroix, George Cochran Lambdin, I.L. Masters, Franklin Harrison Miller, William Rickarby Miller, Joseph Biays Ord, Rubens Peale, John Frederick Peto, Severin Roesen and others.

The museum, 858 W. Fourth St. is open for touring 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and, May through October, 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
