Regional photography club plans juried show

The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs have set the opening night reception for their 2026 Juried Photography Show for Friday, June 5, at the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society in Williamsport from 6 to 8 p.m.

The public is invited to come and vote for their favorite photographs while enjoying wine, cheese and refreshments prepared by the members of the photography group.

According to a news release, this exhibition encourages the members’ creativity by portraying a wide diversity of skills and talent; all work is original by the members. All entries will be judged by a panel of judges with recognized expertise in photography and fine art. They will critique the show and award a Best of Show Ribbon as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention ribbons plus, there will be monetary awards given with each ribbon placement which will be presented during the reception.

In addition to the cash awards, attendees at the opening are given the opportunity to cast 5 votes for their favorite pieces. People’s Choice ribbons will be awarded as a result of those votes. All winners will be announced on the same night.

The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs is comprised of both amateur and professional photographers of diverse talent and backgrounds. Their work will be on display from June 5 to July 25. The historical museum is located at 858 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. The organization meets on the fourth Monday of every month at the Thomas Taber Museum. All meetings are open to the public and start at 6:30 p.m.
