Allegheny Grange plans to observe National Dairy Month in July
Allegheny Grange #1843 held its regular meeting June 16 at the Grange Hall located along Route 864 between Farragut and Picture Rocks.
According to a news release, in observation of National Dairy Month, held a buffet dinner with dishes containing dairy products.
“By using whole milk it is proven to be healthier than processed milk, which goes through the pasteurization process seventeen (17) times,” the news release said. “The farming industry is a dying industry, with many different breeds of dairy cows, so we should support our local farmers. Books were made available telling the story about the milk industry.”
July is National Ice Cream Month. All members are encouraged to attend our July 21st meeting, as well as, prospective members. A membership application is available by contacting Deborah Shaffer at 570-435-0795.
