Allegheny Grange wins awards at Lycoming County Fair

According to a news release, "the Allegheny Grange #1843 made quite a splash at this year's county fair, walking away with top honors in several categories."
"The Grange, which has been a staple in the community for over 150 years, showcased its members' dedication to agriculture, education, and community involvement," the news release said.
The Subordinate Grange, composed of adult members, took first place for its exhibit, "250 Years of Freedom, Family & PA Fairs". The Junior Grange, made up of members aged 5 to 14, also celebrated a major victory, capturing first place for its "Growing A Nation Starts with Educating Our Little Fireworks" exhibit. The central piece of the exhibit was a creative fireworks stand made of recycled materials, featuring a collection of "exploding" fireworks made of recycled items.
"In keeping with tradition, Grange members were at our booth all fair long to offer flavorings and cookbooks, as well as to field any questions from the public regarding the Grange," the news release said. "But the Grange's success wasn't limited to the exhibition hall. One of its younger members, a budding animal enthusiast, also made waves in the 4H animal showing competition. They impressed judges with their skill and dedication, showcasing the strong ties between the Grange and local youth agricultural programs. In a thrilling display of daring and engineering prowess, another Grange member participated in the highly anticipated bus demolition derby. With their modified bus, they navigated the treacherous course, providing spectators with a heart-pounding spectacle."
