"Williamsport is abuzz with the upcoming Little League World Series and the hottest new performing ensemble to make its home in town," a news release says. "The Great Lakes Wind Symphony will offer a double header with two concerts featuring baseball themed music. Join us Saturday, August 22 at 7 p.m. and/or Sunday August 23 at 2:30 p.m. for concerts at the Williamsport Scottish Rite Auditorium 348 Market St., Williamsport."
Featured on the program will be music related to or inspired by the great game of baseball. Included will be John Philip Sousa's The National Game, the famous Casey at the Bat by Randol Bass with narration, Jack Stamp's PasTime, Randy Newman's movie suite from The Natural, and even a world premiere of a new arrangement of Take Me Out to the Ball Game by conductor and composer, Adam Brennan. All GLWS concerts open with the U.S. National Anthem and a beautiful musical setting of the Pledge of Allegiance. Other music on the concert will include a work entitled "Play" and a Symphony.
The GLWS invites whole families and individuals with special needs to attend. According to conductor and CEO Adam Brennan, "We're working to change the concert environment to be more welcoming to families and people with special needs. Music should be for everyone, and if your little one needs to get up and dance or your loved one with special needs calls out with joy, then I think we've done our job!"

Tickets may be purchased in advance on the organization website www.GreatLakesWindSymphony.org or at the door starting 45 minutes prior to the concert.
