Celebrate Grandparents Day with a special afternoon of stories, creativity, and connection at the James V. Brown Library on Saturday, September 12, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The "Little Moments, Big Memories" program honors the important role grandparents and other caring adults play in the lives of children.
Local author Nancy Baumgartner will share an excerpt from her book, A Grandparent by Any Other Name, a heartfelt collection of stories written by and for grandparents. The book celebrates the unique relationships grandparents build with the children in their lives while encouraging readers to reflect on family traditions, memories, and meaningful connections.
Designed for children ages 5 and older and their parent, guardian, grandparent, or other special adult, the program will also include a picture book reading, two hands-on crafts, and an opportunity for adults to share stories and reflect on the joys of creating lasting memories with the children they love.
Following the program, Baumgartner will have copies of A Grandparent by Any Other Name available for purchase for $24 (cash or check only).
The program is free to attend. Registration is required. To register, visit jvbrown.edu.
