Healthy joints, pie crusts topics for Eagle Grange events

2 min read

Eagle Grange will offer a discussion on joint health and a workshop on pie crust making in November.

Dr. Brad Bailey from UPMC Williamsport will present an illustrated program on "Healthy Joints" at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 4 at Eagle Grange Hall between Montgomery and Allenwood.

According to a news release, a discussion on anterior hip replacements and robotic total knee replacements will address the indications for the procedures, anticipated outcomes of the procedures, how technology is used to enhance the procedures and post-operative expectations.

Continuing in its goal to provide educational opportunities for the community, Eagle Grange has scheduled a hands-on "Pie Crusts Made Simple" class on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Grange Hall, 32 East Blind Road, Montgomery.

"If you have ever had one of Eagle Grange's delicious pies and wished you could make one yourself, here is your chance to learn," a second news release said. "Doug Bonsall, who makes many of the pies served with the Grange's take-out dinners, will lead participants through the steps to make homemade pie crusts. Each participant will leave with a pie crust for Thanksgiving dinner! Advance registration is required; class size is limited to 20 participants."

There is a registration fee to participate, which includes all ingredients and supplies. The class registration form is available on the Grange Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/p/Eagle-Grange-1-100064912863231/.

Since the class is filling quickly, interested persons are advised to call Doug Bonsall at 717-460-0723 to determine if space is available before mailing a completed registration form and fee. If interest warrants, a second class may be scheduled at a later date.
