School to host performance by 2 musicians

Anthony Fortuna and Ellen Boll will perform at 2 p.m., Oct. 11, at the Saint John's School of the Arts, 1157 Market St., Williamsport.

According to a news release, Fortuna, who will play oboe, is a woodwinds specialist at Saint John's School of the Arts and an orchestral director living in Williamsport. Fortuna currently serves as director of the Central Pennsylvania Youth Orchestra in addition to being the director of orchestras for the Lewisburg Area School District. Fortuna has performed regionally on various woodwind and string instruments with several professional ensembles such as the Lycoming College Community Orchestra, Northern Tier Symphony, Wyoming Seminary Civic Orchestra, NEPA Lyric Opera and the Northern Appalachian Wind Symphony.

Boll is a collaborative pianist, piano teacher and vocal coach from Williamsport. As as educator, Boll has a piano studio of private students in Williamsport and serves on the faculty of Lycoming College as a part-time instructor of piano. She has performed at Florida State University and Bob Jones University. Boll trained at La Musica Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy, the Collaborative Piano Institute in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Camp Musical des Laurentides in Sainte-Adolphe-d'Howard, Quebec, the Masterworks Festival in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Credo Chamber Music Festival in Oberlin, Ohio.
