Led Zeppelin tribute heads to Schuylkill Haven
For Williamsport fans of the Uptown Music Collective who may not have been able to catch their tribute to Led Zeppelin “Good Times Bad Times,” the UMC is taking the show on the road to Schuylkill County for an outdoor concert on the grounds of the Walk In Art Center May 15.
According to a news release, this is a “bring your own chair” event. The gates open at 5 p.m. with the concert starting at 6 p.m. in the inner courtyard of the old Walkin Shoe Factory at the corner of Parkway and W. Columbia streets in Schuylkill Haven.
“The inner parking area of this building was MADE to hold concerts,” said Jacquie Engel, executive director of the WIAC, according to the news release. “It cries out to be used for performances. … and the first group that came to mind was the Uptown Music Collective. … I reached out to them and they were excited to take their gigantic show on the road.”
After the Uptown Music Collective completed an Eagles tribute during the winter, Engel reached out to bring the show down to Schuylkill County.
“The Eagles would have been great but when Willi Ort, their production manager, told me they were getting ready for their Led Zeppelin tribute in April, I thought that might be an even better fit for this area,” said Engel, according to the news release. “Imagine seeing a dozen amazing guitarist jamming out on stage to ‘Hotel California’ or ‘Kashmir’ instead of just 2 or 3 and you’ll see what I mean. … This block is really gonna rock.”
Parking will be available in Evans Delivery’s and Walk In Art Center’s additional parking lots and in the municipal parking lot by the Schuylkill Haven train station.
