Shutterbugs group to host ‘Night at the Museum’
The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs have set the opening night reception for their Annual “Themed” Photography Show from 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 8 at the Thomas Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society in Williamsport.
According to a news release, this year’s theme is “A Night at the Museum,” photographs featuring the Taber Museum. Photos may be taken inside or outside but must be taken at the Taber Museum.
The public is invited to come and vote for their favorite photographs while enjoying wine, cheese and refreshments prepared by the members of the photography club.
This exhibition encourages the members’ creativity portraying a wide diversity of skills and talent. In order for members to be eligible to receive one of the awards all work must be the original of the member.
There will be 3-member judges who will critique the show and award a Best of Show Ribbon as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention ribbons. According to the news release, the member judges for this show are Wayne Palmer, Harland Bergstrom and James Turri. All ribbons will be presented at the end of the reception.
In addition, “People’s Choice Awards” of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place will be presented at the show. Everyone attending the opening night reception may vote for their five favorite images.
The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs is comprised of both amateur and professional photographers of diverse talent and backgrounds. Their work will be on display from Oct. 4 until Oct. 29. The historical museum is located at 858 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
