Theater group to present murder mystery

This is a murder that may baffle even the famous detective Hercule Poirot.

It’s December, 1935, and the dastardly deed is a grisly “Murder On The Orient Express.”

With a new adaptation by Ken Ludwig (best known for his farcical comedies), the Community Theatre League presents the regional premiere of the classic murder mystery “Murder On the Orient Express.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 4 and 5, and 10 and 12, with 2 p.m. matinees on Feb. 6 and 13, 2022 at the downtown theatre, 100 W. Third St., Williamsport.

Directing one of Dame Agatha Christie’s most famous mysteries is former CTL Board member and Hughesville High School instructor Lorrie Staivisky.

Heading the cast in this 2021-2022 Mainstage production is Glenn Wilson of Winfield as the witty, Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.

The cast of passengers and staff (and presumably the killer) aboard the snowbound train include: Nick Buckman, Liane Hayman, Andree Phillips, Trina Stewart, Ryan Lannan, Doug Powers-Black, Cory Buckles, Lydia Culp, Brad Heffner, Isiah Mundo, and Susan Guinter.

With an unpopular American tycoon stabbed to death inside his compartment, locked from the inside, Inspector Poirot must identify and capture the killer before he – or she – strikes again..
