Millbrook Playhouse seeks actors for summer 2022
MILL HALL — “Camelot,” “Rent” and “Misery” are just a couple of the shows Millbrook Playhouse has planned for its 2022 season, and cast members are needed.
Open auditions are slated for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 12 at the Sloan Fine Arts Center, Lock Haven University, 401 N. Fairview St., Lock Haven. Additional tryouts will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. March 13.
The playhouse, 258 Country Club Lane, Mill Hall, has presented professional summer stock for theatregoers in Clinton, Lycoming, and Centre counties for more than 50 years. Producing Artistic Director David Leidholdt plans “Camelot,” “Jersey Boys” and “Rent” on the Upstairs Main Stage and Caberet productions “Sidekicked,” “Dear Jack, Dear Louise” and “Misery” for the coming season.
Leidholdt notes that the contract is a “non-union summer stock contract with little room for negotiation with pay rate.”
For musicals, those auditioning should prepare two 16-bar of “contrasting style cuts,” and those trying out for plays should deliver a short monologue (preferably one minute or less). Presenting a recent photo and resume are also encouraged.
All COVID-19 restrictions applicable at time of auditions, rehearsals and performance dates, will be strictly adhered to.
