Worldly painter to present works at Taber

PHOTO PROVIDED Joanne Landis displays several of her paintings.

The Thomas T. Taber Museum will host artist Joanne Landis and some of her colorful, mythology-based works for a meet and greet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5.

Landis, who has a studio at the Pajama Factory in Williamsport, is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City. She worked for many years as a fashion illustrator, and taught at Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City, and at Drexel in Philadelphia before becoming a full time painter.

Her work has been shown statewide, as well as in the Big Apple and San Francisco, New Jersey, Florida, Virginia, and even Germany.

Landis’ work is figurative and narrative, after using archetypes and mythology in highly colored dreamlike environments.
