WELLSBORO — Williamsport’s own Gabe Stillman Band will perform a pair of BYOB concerts at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts, 104 Main St., Wellsboro.
Special guest and Floridian Kat Riggins, with Gulf Coast Records, also will perform each night, according to a press release.
“Often compared to Etta James, Tina Turner and KoKo Taylor, Riggins’ voice and her tasteful infusion of vocal nuances set her apart,” the release said.
Stillman leads the band, which also includes Colin Beatty, of Williamsport, on bass guitar and Ray Hangen, of Buffalo, New York, on drums. At the International Blues Challenge in 2019, this ace guitarist and singer won the Gibson Guitar Award, which propelled him into the national spotlight.
“Both nights, Stillman and his band will perform a 45-minute set of Stillman blues,” according to the release. “He will demonstrate his guitar prowess, the maturity of his vocals and the telling of universal life stories with his clever and thoughtful self-penned songs including from ‘Just Say the Word,’ his first full-length album.”
Riggins will join Stillman and his band on stage each night to play the second 45-minute set featuring music from “Progeny,” her new release on Gulf Coast Records.
Tickets are $25 per person to attend either night. Reserve a table, bring beverages and snacks and enjoy the music with family and friends at one of these BYOB concerts.
