Air Force band ‘Airmen of Note’ returns to region on tour; free show stops include Mansfield, Scranton
MANSFIELD — The United States Air Force Band’s “Airmen of Note” from Washington, D.C. is hitting the road, with a handful of stops slated fo Pennsylvania and New York.
The band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 23, in the Straughn Auditorium at Mansfield University, 35 Straughn Drive, Mansfield, with another show planned for 7 p.m. June 26 at the Scranton Cultural Center, 420 N. Washington Ave.
With other stops including Shippensburg as well as Rochester and Geneva, New York, the tour honors the service of airmen both past and present. It “highlights the excellence of military members working across the globe,” said a recent press release.
All concerts are free and open to the public, but tickets are required and can be reserved online bit.ly/aon-mansfield.
“We are excited to bring the band to Pennsylvania and New York,” said Flight Chief CMSgt Brian Macdonald. “Performing live and meeting communities around the country is a regular highlight of our mission, and we look forward to sharing America’s original music with people in each city!”
Seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 7 p.m. for ticket holders. Remaining seats will open to non-ticket holders 15 minutes before the performance.
