Gerald Slota’s ‘FReNzY’ to open at Lycoming College Art Gallery
Lycoming College Art Gallery in downtown Williamsport will feature an exhibit by fine artist and photographer Gerald Slota, titled “FReNzY.”
The show will run Oct. 27 through Nov. 25 with a gallery reception scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3, at 5:30 p.m. The show is free and open to the public.
Slota has been widely exhibited across the United States and abroad. He has had solo shows at the George Eastman House in Rochester, N.Y., and Langhans Galerie in Prague, Czech Republic, as well as been shown at Recontres D’Arles in Arles, France. Slota is represented by the Robert Berman Gallery in Los Angeles.
His images have appeared in publications including The New York Times Magazine, Vice, The New Yorker, New York Magazine and Aperture. Slota has garnered many awards including a Polaroid 20″x24″ Grant, a MacDowell Artist Residency and a Mid-Atlantic Fellowship Grant in 2001, 2009 and 2021.
Slota’s photographs are in collections at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York City; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, Florida, and others.
The Lycoming College Art Gallery, located in downtown Williamsport at 25 W. Fourth St., contributes to the city’s arts culture and allows the College to become more involved with the surrounding community.
Lycoming art students have the opportunity to interact with visiting artists and learn first-hand the inner workings of an art gallery.
The gallery is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 8 p.m.
