‘Music is timeless’: Supergroup producing charity album to benefit kids in need ahead of holidays
Williamsport Toys for Tots is partnering up with Monster Track Supergroup, a pack of musicians from various bands.
The supergroup is currently curating a holiday album at Eight Days a Week studio in Northumberland that is set to be released sometime in November, the band said. All of the proceeds from the album sales will be donated to Toys for Tots.
Jeff Pittinger, lead singer, manager and founder of Monster Track, told WNEP “the goal is to cut them a check a week before Christmas…it’s a perfect scenario to raise money, plus the gift of music is an eternal thing. Music is timeless.”
Pittinger told the Sun-Gazette that he “loves singing with all-star players and making music for people with this caliber of musicians.”
Several of the supergroup’s members have been inducted into the hall of fame. One of the all-star members is Jeremy Hummel, the original drummer for the famous rock band, Breaking Benjamin, as well as Bret Alexander on lead guitar, coming from the American roots rock band, The Badlees.
The band urges people to consider giving the gift of music to a loved one and simultaneously raise money for struggling families this holiday season.
The four-song album will be sold on Monster Track Supergroup’s Facebook page.
