Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra to perform Friday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
								The Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra plan to deliver a stunning performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 142 Market St., Williamsport.
The program’s theme is “The Long Winter Night” and the highlight of the evening will be The Vespers from Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil, said a press release announcing the program. Additionally, the program includes a selection of five a cappella motets, each chosen for its profound beauty.
The night will also showcase the voices of the Williamsport Youth Choir, directed by Megan Louder.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Samuel Robinson, artistic director and conductor, stated, “This concert is a celebration of the rich tapestry of a cappella choral literature. The Vespers by Rachmaninoff is a masterwork that immerses the audience in a transcendent experience. Listeners will be transported to a realm of musical beauty that lingers in their hearts.”
