Williamsport Chapter-American Guild of Organists to offer Christmas performance Saturday
Twelve members of the Williamsport Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a concert of Christmas Organ Music at 2 p.m. Saturday at Covenant Central Presbyterian Church, 807 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
This is the Fourth annual Christmas Concert for the chapter.
Covenant Central Presbyterian boasts one of the largest pipe organs in the Williamsport area, the organization noted in a recent press release.
The organ was built in 1995 by the Schantz Organ Company.
“It is well suited to present the many musical colors of the varied music being played,” the release said. “This organ has been used by concert organists to present some of the best organ music ever written.”
The concert is free and open to the public. It is one of the monthly meetings of the guild where local organists get to gather outside their church duties to enjoy music played for the Christmas services locally.
“We are offering this meeting to you,” the release said. “Come and enjoy.”
