Taber Museum sponsors bus trip to Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Thomas T. Taber Museum, 858 West Fourth St., is sponsoring a bus trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on June 14, to view two spectacular exhibits — “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” and “Collecting Inspiration: Edward C. Moore at Tiffany and Co.,” according to a press release.
The bus will depart the Burger King parking lot at Maynard Street in Williamsport at 5:30 a.m. and arrive in NYC at approximately 10 a.m. The bus will leave NYC at 6:00 p.m. and return to Williamsport at approximately 10:00 p.m., the press release said.
“Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks, as well as a pillow and blanket. There will not be a food stop on the way, however there will be a stop at a Welcome Center near the eastern border of Pennsylvania,” said the press release. “The bus will not be stopping for food on the way home, either. Attendees are encouraged to eat at one of the restaurants within the Museum.”
“Sleeping Beauties” highlights textile treasures from the museum’s collection and includes 250 garments and accessories and spans four centuries of textiles. “Collecting Inspiration” highlights the creative force of Mr. Moore at Tiffany & Co. during the second half of the 19th century. It includes 180 items from Mr. Moore’s personal collection as well as 70 silver objects created at Tiffany & Co. under his direction.
Payment in the form of cash, check or credit card will secure your seat and must be paid by May 10, the press release said. Payment may be made at the Taber Museum or mailed to its address. This payment includes your admission to the museum.
