LEWISBURG – The Lewisburg Arts Council will be hosting its annual Arts Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Market Street. The event will feature more than 120 artists and artisanal food booths between Front and Seventh streets, a press release said.

“The Lewisburg Arts Festival is proud to spotlight a diverse range of arts and crafts, from fine arts to folk art, contemporary and classical. We are equally proud to say that nearly half of our vendors are local and more than half are returning vendors,” said the press release. “That means that you’ll be able to catch many of your favorite artists from last year this April. It also means that there will be plenty of new artists to meet and lots of exciting new art to admire. There is bound to be something for everyone.”

The festival’s featured artist, Robert Haefner, will have photographs on display at The Gallery, 15 North Water St., through Sunday. Haefner will be available to talk to at The Gallery from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the festival, the press release said.

Along with local artists, vendors from New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio will also be on hand. The festival is juried by a panel of artists to ensure the highest quality and broadest appeal, according to the release.

“Our jurors score each applicant anonymously, based on quality of craft, artistic merit, artistic theme, innovation and presentation. This system keeps the Festival interesting, innovative and fresh,” the release said.

In addition to artists, there will be more than 40 food and beverage vendors at the event. There will also be a free petting zoo, balloon art, and musical and dance performances at two separate venues.

Parking for the event will be available at 101 Hafer Road (the former Country Cupboard lot), and one of the “Express” festival shuttles will drop patrons off at the start of the festival. At the other end, another shuttle will whisk you back to your vehicle. A third shuttle will loop four downtown stops, including The Gallery. All shuttles are free. There will also be accessible parking spaces at Municipal Lot 6, 15 North Second St.
