The Exchange to unveil first Free Little Art Gallery

According to a press release, the Exchange in Bloomsburg will be unveiling the first Free Little Art Gallery from 2-3 p.m. April 27 at the Pajama Factory, 1307 Park Avenue, as part of “Pajama Factory Unbuttoned.”

Similar to Free Little Libraries, Free Little Art Galleries (FLAGs) invite the public to take and leave original art. The Exchange will stock the FLAGs with art as well as art kits, each containing a small canvas, easel, markers, paints and a brush that were provided by Make Art Supplies at the Pajama Factory, the press release said.

Inspired by The Exchange’s mission to bring art everywhere, Kate Murphy designed the first Free Little Art Gallery after an open call for artists to submit their ideas. The event has been spearheaded by Exchange board member and Pajama Factory tenant Brian Spies.

“The Exchange works to bring the arts to all communities throughout our region, and the Free Little Art Galleries fit perfectly into this mission,” The Exchange’s executive director Oren Helbok said in the release.

Future FLAGs will go up in Williamsport as well as Bloomsburg and Berwick, the release said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
