Wellsboro choruses performing free show this weekend

WELLSBORO — According to a press release, the Wellsboro Women’s Chorus and Wellsboro Men’s Chorus are presenting their annual Spring Concert along with special guests, the Wednesday Morning Musicales Chorus, At 7 p.m. Saturday in the United Methodist Church of Wellsboro, 36 Main St.

The concert theme is “Here Comes the Sun.” The three choruses will sing 21 songs, including Broadway and pop tunes. The concert will end with all three choruses singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone with Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” said the release.

The Wednesday Morning Musicales Chorus, directed by Diana Frazier with piano accompaniment by Marian Miller, will open the concert. The 34-member group will perform favorites from “The Rat Pack,” including “You’re Nobody ‘Til Somebody loves You,” “Everybody Loves Somebody,” “Come Fly with Me,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “Forever Young,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” with Dave Driskell on clarinet, and “I Only Have Eyes for You.”

The 26 members of the Wellsboro Men’s Chorus, directed by Christina Simonis with accompanist Pat Davis at the piano will sing “Gonna Rise Up,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Georgia,” “The Creation,” “My Lord, What a Morning,” “Circle of Life,” with Dave Driskell accompanying on a recorder and “What a Wonderful World.”

The 35-member Wellsboro Women’s Chorus, directed by Diana Frazier with piano accompaniment by Judy Smithgall, will sing “Here Comes the Sun,” “When Will I Be Loved,” “My Fair Ladies,” “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” “Jersey Boys,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Don’t Stop,” “Stop! In the Name of Love” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
