Lewisburg Photography Club announces award winners of annual exhibit

LEWISBURG — The Lewisburg Photography Club announced the winners of its annual Lewisburg Photography Exhibition, currently on display at the Gallery, 5 North Water St., throughout the month of October. The exhibition is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers from the Lewisburg Arts Council are on site to assist visitors and provide information about the Arts Council and the exhibition.

Awards were presented at the exhibition’s opening reception on Oct. 4. One of the highlights was the Best in Show award, which was bestowed upon Ramona Kroll for her piece titled “Eye See You,” a piece that also secured first place in the Young Adult category (ages 13-17).

Additional awards were presented across four adult categories (Nature, Black and White, Artistic/Abstract, and Lifestyle), as well as the Children’s Category (up to age 12). Winners received ribbons for 1st through 3rd place, with monetary awards granted for adult 1st and 2nd places.

The judging panel, comprised of talented local photographers, also selected their favorite pieces from the exhibition. These winners received a special Judge’s Choice award ribbon to recognize their exceptional work. Among the judges, Steve Gibson, founder of the Art Academy of Milton, selected “potentiality” by Jason DeBloois for his Judge’s Choice award. Terri Peterson, a Lewisburg-based photographer and artist, chose “Heading Out” by Valerie Harris for her Judge’s Choice award. Tony Ragusea, an award-winning photographer, awarded “Ethereal Tranquility” by Sierra Wenzel his Judge’s Choice award.
