Lycoming College to present ‘Legally Blonde The Musical’

According to a press release, the Lycoming College Theatre Department will present “Legally Blonde The Musical” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12-15, in the Mary L. Welch Theatre on the Lycoming College campus. The Broadway hit is the first production of the College’s 2025-26 theater season.

“Legally Blonde The Musical” is written by Heather Hach with music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin. It tells the story of Elle Woods, who transforms from underestimated “sorority girl” to accomplished lawyer, proving her worth lies beyond appearances.

Directed by Biliana Stoytcheva-Horissian, professor of theatre and chair of the department, this Lycoming College production will be the first musical to feature a live eight-piece orchestra with a conductor since “Urinetown” in 2018. “Legally Blonde The Musical” will showcase the College’s powerhouse theatre department, all while telling a heart touching and powerful story.

“The upbeat musical comedy tells a resonant story about identity, ambition, and defying expectations through catchy songs and high-energy dance numbers, but Elle Woods’s journey is not just humorous and entertaining–it’s empowering,” said Stoytcheva-Horissian.

Starting at $2.99/week.
