SVC set for pops show: ‘The Best of 30 Years, Part 2!’
According to a press release, the Susquehanna Valley Chorale will end its current performance season with its pops concert, which will celebrate “The Best of 30 Years (Part 2!).” The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. May 2 at Susquehanna University’s Weber Auditorium in Selinsgrove.
This year’s program will span several decades, featuring many eras and styles of music.
This year’s pops celebration is Part 2 of a celebration that honors Bill Payn’s 30 years as SVC Conductor and music director.
It’ll certainly be another fun trip down memory lane, and there’s still bound to be a parade of costumes making an appearance for the occasion. Be prepared for some extra special surprises, as we commemorate Bill’s final bow at the podium,” said the press release.
The SVC will be joined by the SVC Stage Band and Soloists for this concert include: Bill Calhoun, Josh Dearing, Adam Dietz, Marina and Marilyn Gresh, Steve Jordan, Brook Persing, Michael Zettlemoyer, and more.
Some of the featured songs will include: “ABBA Forever,” “It’s A Grand Night for Singing,” “Love Me Tender,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “We Are Family,” and many others.
The SVC is once again offering complimentary shuttle service from all parking lots on the SU campus. To all our guests, please be advised, there is construction happening near Weber Auditorium so not all roadways are currently open around the venue. However, all doorway entrances are still accessible via sidewalks.
The SVC’s 26-27 season with new conductor Caleb Hopkins has been announced and includes four performances: “Spooky Spectacular” on Oct. 25 at 3 p.m., “A Carol Celebration” on Dec. 13 at 3 p.m., “Rachmaninoff: All Night Vigil” on Mar 7 at 3 p.m. and “Don’t Worry, ‘B’ Happy” on May 7-8 at 7:30 p.m.
