Muncy Historical Society to host a juried exhibit and sale of fine arts made in Pennsylvania

MUNCY -- The Muncy Historical Society's 21st annual invitational Artists Exhibition and Sale will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 23, with opening-night refreshments, a press release said. The show, which will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., will continue from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Oct. 24.

"The Society's art show committee wants to ensure that show guests experience a well-rounded event that includes a wide range of artistic expression - diversity and excellent artistry remain paramount to the selection process," the press release said. "The show will feature some of Pennsylvania's most talented artists, whose works are exhibited and collected nationally; many share a close relationship with Lycoming County and the surrounding area."

The show will include a wide range of artistry, including oil, acrylic, pastels, watercolor, and encaustic paintings, flora monoprints, woodworking, mixed media, and home décor. It will feature a rich, varied collection of original works, along with signed and numbered limited-edition reproductions.

This year's artists include Sheila Barto, Jennifer Gibson, Jeff Gilbert, Jennifer Gibson, Lynn Kibbe, Melanie Payton, Mark Robbins, Theresa Spitler, Bruce Storm, and Nella Godbey Storm.

Attendees can participate in a silent auction until 1 p.m. on Oct. 24. Attendees may also register for a gift certificate toward a purchase at the 2027 Artist Show. The following museum publications will be available:"17756, 17756 A Coloring Book, 17756 Traveling Through Time, Amadeus, Dragon Views and Other Observations, and Deeds of the Valley.

This year's show proceeds will benefit the Muncy Historical Society's educational initiatives and its community outreach, including the ongoing development of Captain John Brady Park. Arts funding support has been provided by Gary's Furniture in Picture Rocks and friends of the Muncy Historical Society.
