Williamsport native marries woman in Virginia ceremony


Christopher B. Shultz and Megan Hope Woodward were married April 18, 2020 in Franklin, Virginia by Pastor Danny Dillon. The couple and their family and friends celebrated the marriage with a reception on Oct. 25, 2020.

Megan is the daughter of Robert and Melinda (Hinson) Woodward of Franklin, Virginia. Megan was born in Franklin and attended Rock Church High School and Blue Ridge Bible School, where she earned an associate’s degree in theology. She works at Rockingchair Child Care and as an administrator at Rock Church in Franklin.

Christopher is the son of Jay and Kimberly (Ulmer) Shultz of Cogan Station. Christopher was both in Williamsport and attended Williamsport Area High School. He is a relationship banker with Truist Bank in Franklin, Virginia.

Sara Beth Woodward, Megan’s sister, was the maid of honor while Avery Shultz, Christopher’s brother, was the best man. Sara lives in Franklin while Avery lives in Cogan Station. The bridesmaids were Morgan Ognibene of Courtland, Virginia and Amber Ballance of Franklin, Virginia, both friends of the bride while Mark Moon of Williamsport and Anthony Peachey of Muncy, both friends of the groom, were groomsmen. Two nieces of the groom, Jane Detrick of Montoursville and Harper Hinkle of Lingelstown, served as flower girls.

The April marriage ceremony was carried on Facebook Live and was followed by a drive-by reception line.
