Couple weds in July

Jillian Jackson and Justin Ruiz, both of Charlotte, N.C., were united in marriage on July 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. It was a warm summer day with an abundance of sunshine. The ceremony was held at Messiah Lutheran Church in South Williamsport with Pastor Maurice Frontz officiating with a reception following at the Williamsport Country Club.

Jillian is the daughter of Michele and Brian Jackson of Williamsport. She is a 2012 graduate of South Williamsport Are High School. She received a bachelor's of arts in communication disorders with minors in linguistics and psychology from West Chester University in 2015. She received a master's of science in communication sciences and disorders from East Stroudsburg University in 2017. She is employed as a speech-language pathologist with Cabarrus County Schools at Charles Bogey Elementary School.

Justin is the son of Barbara Ruiz of Hobart, Indiana, and Manuel Ruiz of St. John, Indiana. Justin is a 2009 graduate of Portage Area High School. He graduated from Purdue University with both a bachelor's of science in physics in 2013 and a master's of science in therapeutic medical physics in 2015. He completed his residency in radiation physics at Geisinger Medical Center. Justin is employed as a radiation physicist with Atrium Health at Levine Cancer Institute.

Maid of honor was Jennifer Jackson of Williamsport., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah Lamade, East Stroudsburg; Serena Engel, Portland, Ore.; and Emily Barry, Berlin, Md. Flower girl was Olivia Bowman. Best man was Eric Ruiz of Hobart, Ind., brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Ian Christie of Baltimore; Dustin Krenkel of Chicago; and Jeffrey Gratt of Portage, Ill.

The newlyweds took a honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico. They recently bought land and will be building their new home next year.
