Williamsport native weds in Texas

Sydney Smith and Neil Forquer, both of Alexandria, Virginia, were united in marriage on April 30, 2022. The ceremony was held at Cathedral Guadalupe in Dallas, Texas, with Rev. Joseph Elston officiating. A reception followed with dinner and dancing at the Carlisle Room.

Sydney is the daughter of Dixie and Brad Smith of Midlothian, Texas. She received bachelor's degrees in economics and political science from the University of Alabama in 2016, and a juris doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School in 2019. Sydney is an internal investigations and white collar defense attorney in Washington, D.C.

Neil is the son of Adele and Thomas Forquer of Williamsport. Neil attended St. John Neumann Regional Academy, graduating in 2010, before earning his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the George Washington University in 2014. He is a structural engineer in Arlington, Virginia.

Maid of honor was Ashley Hickman of Farmers Branch, Texas. Bridesmaids were Brooke Deane, Savannah, Texas; Carson Everett, Washington, D.C.; and M.E. Brasher, McKinney, Texas. Best man was Hayden Forquer of Raleigh, North Carolina, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Trent Smith, Midlothian, Texas, brother of the bride; Brent Synoracki, Franklinton, North Carolina; and Conor Norris, Morgantown, West Virginia.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Italy, visiting Amalfi and Rome.
