Couple weds in Wellsboro
Tioga County native, Melissa Bravo, and Sanjay Choudhary of Bikaner, India celebrated their marriage with the bride’s family and friends October 12, 2024, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wellsboro. The reception was held in the church hall followed by a family picnic at Wellsboro’s Woodland Park. The couple catered the wedding with fresh produce from Leister’s Farm Market and cheeses and snacks from the Mennonite Stony Fork Store. The Irish Flag- and India Flag-inspired wedding cakes were made by Candy Bakes (Slingerland) of Mansfield.
The bride wore a blue a traditional Rajasthani ‘Poshak’ custom-made dress from Jodhpur, India provided by the groom. The bride’s lemon-yellow ceremony ‘lehenga-kurta’ dress and shawl were made by the groom’s sister, Julie Choudhary (Kuldeep) of Bikaner. Witnesses at the marriage ceremony included Linda Williams (Bob) of Wellsboro; Dawn Bergen (Joe) formerly of Wellsboro; Lisa Peters (Brian) of Fogelsville; Jim Zoschg (Karie) of Emporium, Jon Cooper of Tioga, Episcopal officiant, The Reverend Laurie Kerr, and with the heavenly blessing of Celia Finestone (Stephen) of Wellsboro, and Bob Williams (Linda) of Wellsboro.
The bride is the daughter of Guy (deceased) and Helena Bravo formerly of Wellsboro. The groom is the son of Kishan and Ganga Choudhary of Bikaner, India. The couple met four years prior when Bravo was campaigning on the global dairy crisis. Melissa received her M.S. in Agronomy-Weed Science at Penn State University, University Park and B.S. from Delaware Valley University, Doylestown. The groom receive his M.B.A. from Poornima Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jaipur, India, M.A and B.A. from Dungar College, Bikaner. The bride owns Meadow Lake Farm (angus) and Meadow Lake Farm Consulting, an agriculture consulting business. The groom is owner of Holy Cow Dairies, a 50-cow Holstein-Friesian-Desi direct-to-consumer milking herd. The couple currently reside at the Bravo century-farm in Lawrenceville.
The couple wishes to acknowledge family, friends, and colleagues in India and in the United States for their loving support and blessing of their union.
