City man charged with assaulting and robbing teen
Donyae Jarmon-Austin, 20, of 648 Cherry St., has been jailed on charges of assaulting and robbing a 16-year-old friend moments after the two shopped together at a clothing store in the 400 block of Washington Boulevard about 2:40 p.m. on Aug. 13, city police alleged in a criminal complaint.
Once the two walked to a rear alley, Jarmon-Austin grabbed the teen “from behind, choking him to the point that he could not breathe. The teen almost lost consciousness,” an officer wrote in an affidavit. The accused took the teen’s wallet and fled, police alleged. Following his arraignment before Biichle on charges of strangulation, robbery and theft, Jarmon-Austin was jailed in lieu of $125,000 bail.
