Motorist charged with DUI following crash

Traveling 83 mph in a 55 mph speed zone on Route 15 North in Old Lycoming Township about 5:20 p.m,. on Sept. 6 , motorcyclist Jeremy David Weston had no plans of slowing down or stopping as a state trooper pursued him, according to an affidavit.

After exiting at the Beautys Run Road interchange and running a stop sign at the foot of the ramp, Weston, 23, of 2249 W. Third St., heading north on Lycoming Creek Road then west on Grant Street before crashing in a mobile home park, police said.

Uninjured, Weston was immediately taken into custody immediately, police said, adding that while he was searched, Weston was found to be carrying a bag that contained 13 grams of marijuana, and .9 grams of cocaine. A blood test revealed marijuana and methamphetamines in his system, the affidavit stated. Arraigned Tuesday before District Judge William Solomon on charges of felony fleeing police, DUI of controlled substances, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia plus seven summary violations, Weston was released on $25,000 bail.
