Fischer Insurance Agency has been a staple in the area since 1966, and the family-owned business has been providing insurance coverage to Lycoming County ever since. Fischer Insurance Agency was founded in 1966 by Raymond J. Fischer Sr., who operated the first office from the back porch of his home. From there, it grew to an office on West Fourth Street before settling in at 1735 East Third Street in Loyalsock, where it is now.

Jerry Fischer, president and owner of Fischer Insurance Agency, is a commercial lines coverage specialist (CLCS), certified insurance counselor (CIC) and accredited advisor in insurance (AAI). His son Brian is the vice president and is also a CLCS and CIC.

Jerry started working in the business in 1984 before becoming the owner in 1992. Brian has been with the company since 2013 after he graduated from the University of Scranton, making it the third generation involved with the business.

Fischer Insurance Agency offers a lot of services and types of insurance, from home and business insurance, to other services.

“We do both under term of property and casuality, personal lines, home, auto, umbrella. We’ll do boats, motorcycles, RVs, things like that,” Brian Fischer said. “We do commercial insurance, so commercial property, commercial liability, work comp., commercial umbrella.”

The company also works with health insurance, including Medicare and disability, under Fischer Financial Group.

“We have Fischer Financial Group that does group health, medicare, disability, kind of financial side of things under Fischer Financial Group,” Brian Fischer said.

One thing Brian Fischer noted was that Fischer Insurance Agency provides great service that separates them from other insurance agencies and it’s something the company prides itself on.

“One thing that we like to stress to the public is that we offer instant service. We feel that differentiates us from other agencies is our service to our clients,” Brian Fischer said. “We always try to put people in a better place than when we found them when they came here and provide instant service. Those are two things that we like to stress and implement in our day to day operations.”
