Veterinary clinic aims for personalized service
Wolf Run Veterinary Clinic, on Route 220 near Pennsdale, offers many services to pet owners.
Wolf Run Veterinary Clinic is located at 279 Rt. 220 Highway, just off the Halls/Pennsdale exit of I-180 in Muncy. The clinic and animal hospital is owned by Dr. Amy Phillips, D.V.M., and it offers a lot to pet owners.
That includes comprehensive diagnostic testing which includes vet services, urinalysis, kidney enzymes, liver values, electrolytes, blood sugar values and anemia. It offers vaccinations for both dogs and cats including Parvo, Distemper, Panleukopenia, FeLV, Kennel Cough, rabies and Lyme Disease.
Currently Wolf Run Veterinary Clinic has five full-time veterinaries and offers a 24-hour hotline.
Josh Phillips, Wolf Run Veterinary Clinic business manager, noted some big upcoming changes the staff is excited about. That includes an expansion to add 28 boarding kennels which will be available Memorial Day, an indoor play arena and a doggie day care service.
“That will be something we don’t do right now,” Phillips said. “We plan in the future to offer an additional veterinary services like rehab and therapy. That’s part of the expansion building. That’ll create an additional six jobs.”
Phillips noted that when his wife Amy bought the veterinary clinic and opened it in 2016, there were just nine employees. The veterinary clinic now employs more than 50 people.
Phillips noted that Wolf Run Veterinary Clinic is locally owned, providing a personalized service that a lot of others can’t offer.
“We’re a hometown, locally owned vet, which is we’re not owned by a large coproration which several around here are,” Phillips said. “We try to have that personalized service with our staff. We don’t want to lose that personalized service per se.”
Wolf Run Veterinary Clinic offers spay and neuturing services for pets, surgery for a number of issues — including removal of lumps, cysts and tumors, biopsy surgery, repairing fractured bones, bladder stone removal, intestinal blockage repair and gastropexy — dental care and dental x-rays.
The clinic also offers grooming and boarding services. The grooming services include cuts or trims, bathing, brushing, removal of hair mats, ear and eye cleaning, flea and tick treatment, nail trimming and anal gland cleaning.
Boarding services are designed to offer pets a fun and relaxing stay, the clinic’s website says. It includes large indoor rooms, an outside fenced-in area, a dog park for playtime and webcams to see your pet while you are away.
The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. They can be reached at 570-546-7624.
