As part of their ongoing effort to get impaired drivers off the road, state troopers at the Montoursville barracks will be conducting roving DUI patrols as well as setting up DUI checkpoints throughout the county during the Memorial Day Weekend, beginning Friday.

Police said they will be targeting high DUI-related crash areas, based on compiled statistical data.

Police also remind motorists of the “Duty of Driver in Emergency Response Area” law that requires all drivers to move over to an open lane and to reduce their speed whenever they come upon police or other emergency vehicles stopped along the roadway with their emergency lights activated.

Police remind everyone in vehicles to wear their seatbelts.
