A bench warrant for the arrest of Rose Marie Vought was expected to be filed after the 41-year-old city woman failed to appear for her preliminary hearing on misdemeanor charges of shoplifting and receiving stolen property that was filed by state police.

Vought, of 811 Wilson St., has been charged with stealing merchandise 19 times at the Weis Market 305 River Ave. in Loyalsock Township last year between January and June, police alleged in an affidavit. It was alleged that she failed to scan $901 worth of merchandise when she went through a self-checkout counter, police said. She used her supermarket shopper's card each time, police added.
