South Williamsport man faces misdemeanor charge

1 min read

Upset that a neighbor called borough police on June 24 to complain about fireworks he had set off, South Williamsport resident Michael Karschner, 38, of 440 Hastings St., "began harassing" the neighbor, telling him at one point "I'm going to (expletive) you up," it was alleged in an affidavit.

After the neighbor made the initial fireworks complaint, a police officer "contacted the individual responsible for shooting them off (Karschner)," the affidavit stated. The officer then told Karschner that "he was going to receive a summons for (allegedly) violating the borough's fireworks ordinance."

Karschner now faces the misdemeanor charge of harassment by using lewd and threatening language, police said. He has waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $5,000 bail.
