Roofing contractor faces felonies

By Philip A. Holmes 1 min read

In the spring of 2021, Jean Vlcek hired David William Templeton, owner of Front Line Metal Roofing and Remodeling, to work on her home in the 900 block of Locust Street, city police said, adding the woman gave Templeton $8,000 for the job.

"Templeton completed just enough work to keep Vlcek believing he was working to complete the job… (but in the end he) caused more damage to the victim's home," police alleged in an affidavit.

Templeton, 43, of 451 George St., South Williamsport, "has since stopped performing work that was agreed upon" in the contract he signed with Vlcek, an officer said in a criminal complaint. Templeton, who faces felony charges of theft by deception, deceptive business practices and home improvement, has waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $15,000 bail.
