Assault-related charges have been lodged against Miles Gordner, 40, of 167 Homebase Lane, Unityville, after he "ripped a man out of his truck and began punching and kicking him" following a crash that involved the two in the 200 block of Talmer Road in Jordan Township about 9:45 p.m. on July 15, state police alleged in an affidavit. Gordner was taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville to be treated for injuries he suffered in the crash while the man he allegedly attacked, Keith Putman was treated at the same facility for head, chest and facial injuries he suffered in the assault, police said.
There were no details about the accident in the affidavit. Putman told police that Gordner allegedly "kicked him in the face, causing him to lose three teeth, and repeatedly punched him in the back," the affidavit stated. Charged with simple assault and harassment, Gordner has been sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
In another case, Sharon Johnson, 58, of 1582 Randall Circle, has been charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting a male during a domestic in her home about 9 p.m. on Oct. 19, state police said in an affidavit. The male was treated at UPMC Williamsport. Johnson was arraigned that night before District Judge Aaron Biichle and released on $10,000 bail. She has since waived her preliminary hearing.
In another case, Justin Dagostino, 26, of 73 Schmouder Drive, Trout Run, has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment after threatening a woman, telling her to "give him his children now and 'I'm going to slit your (expletive) throat'” during a domestic disturbance that turned physical on Schmouder Drive in Jackson Township about 3 p.m. on Oct. 31, state police alleged in an affidavit. The accused and the victim allegedly shoved one another, police were told. Following his arraignment hours later, Dagostino was initially jailed, but has since been released on $25,000 bail.
In another case, when a city police officer arrived at a reported domestic disturbance involving a couple going through a divorce in the 400 block of Grant Street about 6:40 p.m. on Sept. 28, he saw blood coming from a cut on a woman's left eyebrow, court records stated. Her estranged husband, Derek Thomas, 28, of 502 W. Fourth St., apartment 2, punched her in the face during an argument, police alleged.
Thomas came to the woman's home to get "a refrigerator and see the couple's children," police said. Charged with simple assault and harassment, Thomas has waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $7,500 bail.
