Troopers investigate possible school shooting threat

State police are investigating a claim from someone threatening to commit a school shooting earlier this month.

On Dec. 2, at about 3 p.m., the suspect purportedly made threats of committing a school shooting. The name of the school was not disclosed, but the location was on Shiffler Avenue in Loyalsock Township. The nearest school is Loyalsock Township Area Junior and Senior High School.

The individual who made the complaint contacted the state police at about 4:05 p.m.

Troopers responded and took a report of this incident, listing a 16-year-old girl as the victim.

It was determined the information received was not credible. State troopers said Thursday they will continue to investigate this incident, which is categorized as making terrorist threats.
