Former employee charged with felony

While employed at Marc Williams Goldsmith, 430 William St., during a three-month period beginning last April, Melissa Marie Badger stole close to $5,000 worth of jewelry, state police alleged in an affidavit. Upon executing a search warrant at her apartment at 1734 Loyalsock Drive and her car, troopers recovered an undisclosed amount of the jewelry that was taken from the city business. Following her arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle on a felony charge of theft, Badger, 42, was released on $25,000 bail.
