"Over the Edge," will be returning Saturday, September 9 at the William Hepburn highrise in the city, in conjunction with a UPMC block party, according to a news release. The event, which is in its sixth year, will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"Over the Edge" which is a fundraising partnership between the River Valley YMCA, Northcentral YWCA and the Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation, allows people to commit to raise at least $1,000 for the non profit organization of their choice of the partnership or evenly divided between all three in exchange for rappelling down nine stories.
Last year, the event collectively raised more than $75,000 from among 70 participants
and 700 donors.

Once signed up, individuals will receive a personalized webpage and toolkit to guide
them through the fundraising process.
