Fire damages five acres in Cascade Township Tuesday

RALSTON -- Many fire companies worked together Tuesday afternoon for nearly three hours to douse a brush fire that consumed close to five acres on a mountain range in the 1700 block of Slacks Run Road in Cascade Township, according to reports from the scene. While the fire, which was reported about 3:30 p.m., was contained in little more than an hour, firefighters were still on the scene at 7 p.m. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
