Three sheds go up in flames, another suffers minor damage

CLARKSTOWN — Three sheds were destroyed and a fourth suffered minor damage in a fire that broke out at 750 Ridge Road in Moreland Township just before 8 a.m. Monday, Muncy Area fire officials said.

The fire originated in one 12×20 foot shed and quickly spread to two others, officials said. All the sheds were next to one another.

An unknown number of chickens in the original shed that caught fire perished, officials said.

The fire could be seen for several miles.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.

Besides Muncy Area, tankers from Hughesville, Picture Rocks, Pennsdale, Clinton Township, Lairdsville and Millville responded.

After becoming available after this fire and while returning to their station, Clinton Township firefighters were directed to extinguish a small grass fire caused by a downed power line at Route 405 and Griffin Road in Muncy Creek Township about 9:50 a.m.
