Woman arrested after allegedly attempting to bring contraband into Lycoming County prison

A woman allegedly had strong pain relieving pills on her while being transported to Lycoming County Prison.
Chelsi A. Hess, 34, of Mount Union, was being transported to prison by state Trooper Troy Hansen of Laporte barracks at 5:11 a.m. on Feb. 28 when she was caught with the pills.
Hansen said he was transporting her from the PSP barracks in Montoursville and asked her several times if she had any drugs on her before transport to the prison, but was found with the pills hidden in her pants.
She was charged with attempting to bring contraband into prison and was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail. Her charge recently was waived before District Judge Aaron S. Biichle to county court.
